Personal Item Checklist

When traveling, there are plenty of important documents and possessions that need to be organized and accounted for. It's also important to keep all your important documents easily accessible throughout your move. We have put together a short checklist with some advice to help you double-check that you've acquired all the necessary paperwork and remind you of some things that are easy to forget.

Personal Records

  1. Driver's License and other forms of ID
  2. Plane tickets
  3. Birth Certificate(s)
  4. Certificate of Registration
  5. Passport(s)
  6. Residence and Work Permits
  7. Marriage Certificate (if married)
  8. Bank Statements
  9. Social Security Records

When organizing your medical records, include:

  1. vaccination records
  2. dental records
  3. eyeglass information
  4. prescription information

NOTE: Children’s records should include results of a physical examination taken during the past 12 months and the dates of received immunizations. Ask your doctor or health care provider for possible recommendations in your destination city, or contact the State of Alaska Department of Health.

When carrying prescription medications:

  1. Do not carry medicine in large quantities.
  2. Keep the medicines in their original, labeled containers with pharmacy name
  3. Bring copies of your doctor’s written prescriptions and the generic drug names

The following is a list of personal items you might want to bring to prepare you for the day of your flight and the following days after: 

  1. Cash for food and groceries, in case places don't take credit 
  2. Toiletries
  3. Toothbrush/Floss 
  4. Personal Grooming (razor, make-up)
  5. Towels
  6. Extra clothes
  7. Entertainment including music, books, and movies.
